The Rural Alberta Advantage

Hello everybody. If you haven't yet heard of this band, here they are. The Rural Alberta Advantage are a Canadian band and have gained popularity mainly from the internet, being viewed on and featured on various music sites. The indie band first came together in 2005 and have been growing since. Check it out, and photo cred goes to flickr user "sevennine".

Straight Outta Compton

The Game is straight outta Compton for all you that do not know. He, along with myself are huge fans of N.W.A. If you don't already know, Game practically idolizes the group, especially Eric Wright-Eazy-E. One of N.W.A.'s more notorious tracks was "Straight Outta Compton" featured on their 1989 album. Last year, Game decided that he wanted to continue the song, but by adding his own verse of coursem, in a very similar style. I found it pretty live. I decided that I'm going to post the old one just for those of you that don't have it.

Brand New: Maino Featuring T-Pain

Rapper Maino, he's new to me. He's worked with Lil Kim before, and has a few mixtapes out. I hadn't heard of him until I heard this song. It's pretty sick, I gotta say. I like T-Pain on song's like these, not as much on the dance songs. So definitely check this one out, I put it on my iPod.

New N.A.S.A. + Jay-Z

N.A.S.A. is a duo of DJs, or compilers, who bring together artists to make some great tracks. Their genre is hard to describe, it's like a combination of electronic and hip-hop.So N.A.S.A. continues to deliver with some of the biggest artists of today, and a decade ago. Here's a new track which features Method Man, as well as E-40 and DJ Swamp. Method Man's gotta be one of my favourite's out of Wu-Tang, with his hits All I Need, Say, and his stuff with Redman, and his verse is definitely sick. It's got a bouncy beat, and it's pretty sick, so check it out.
Also, Jay-Z's got a new track titled When the Money Goes, some places call it, simply, Money Goes. It's alright, but it's new, so I posted it.
If you like the N.A.S.A. track, just leave a comment or something, and I can post some other songs they have later on.

Kanye Mayhem!

I got some juicy stuff for all the Yeezy lovers out there. There are, get ready for this, two unreleased tracks, back from when Mr. West used to.. well, rap, then another freestyle I found, and lastly a Teriyaki Boyz song which he's featured on, and produced.
First two simply are old, unreleased tracks I dug up. Neither are bad, so check them out. The freestyle is also pretty good, it kinda covers that song, "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.." which works, I guess.
Fourth song, with the Teriyaki Boyz. If you don't know them, they did some tracks for Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. The DJ of the group is Nigo, creator of clothing brand A Bathing Ape, more commonly known as Bape. Check this one out, beat's not bad.

Drake & Lil Wayne On Santogold

Drake is one of my favourite Toronto rappers. He has teamed up with Lil Wayne to make a remix for the Santogold song "Unstoppable".

Monomen

Here's a group I found earlier this week. They're a european indie band and are still a rising group. So check them out and you'll probably like them as much as I do. I also have to credit this photo to flickr user "emm i a" if you're into photography check her out aswell.

Monomen - Drum Of Glass
Monomen - Asian Space Station

New Ron Browz Video - Jumpin Out the Window

Well here it is, it's not bad, pretty typical. Gotta love the chanting "hey" in the background though. Check it out.

Weezy

Once again, I have posted songs from a mixtape. The next two tracks are not recent, neither that popular. I'm more or less posting these to give recognition to Jay Rock and Nas. Wayne and Jay have done more than one track in the past, but I think this is one of their best. Both songs have catchy uplifting beats, with some nice ryhmes here and there. Hope you enjoy.

The Strings!

I know how this looks, but everyone has their doubts at first. Honestly, I was so impressed with Vitamin String Quartet, and their various tributes to artists such as Tupac, Linkin Park, and the The Killers. It's different, but easy to adjust to. I find the strings are great for those sleeping playlists. I've only listed four of their songs that I generally listen to.

Night of the Living Dead

This is another post in honour of Biggie and his debut film. I found these songs off a mixtape last summer, and I was instantly hooked; Sleepwalkers becoming my favorite. The thing I find about Biggie, are that his lyrics can flow with anything; rock, reggae, even techno at some points. Biggie's one of my favorite rappers, so be sure to expect more from him.

Flo Rida and Pleasure P + Slim Thug and Akon

Here are two new tracks, one from Flo Rida, probably gonna be on his new album. The other is Slim Thug with Akon, might be on his new album too, Boss of All Bosses. They're not bad, nothing much else to say. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Softie of the Week 2: Owl City

Owl City is an electronica/pop project made by Adam Young. He's the top unsigned artist on myspace, having over 10 million listens. He's got two albums out, one's called Of June, and the other is Maybe I'm Dreaming. He has a loyal fan base, started in 2007.
